Day 1 of OUR journey

Today marks the inaugural day of our new company's ambitious, multi-year journey. With climate change and environmental concerns taking center stage globally, our mission is clear:

  • Help oil and gas firms detect methane leaks in near real-time,

  • Alert and shorten the time to repair by 90%, consequently reducing emissions by 90%,

  • Quantify emissions to help understand the impact of a leak and,

  • Automate and streamline the reporting of methane leaks and CO2 footprint with unparalleled speed.

As the energy sector grapples with the increasing need for sustainable energy solutions, we are committed to innovating and delivering tools that will shape the future of the oil and gas sector. Whether your company wants to lower the carbon intensity of your fuels, cut costs while adapting to new regulations, or reduce your CO2 footprint and avoid emissions taxes, our proprietary hardware and software solution is what you need.

Our immediate goal is ambitious yet achievable: to help cut Leak Detection and Repair (LDAR) and Reporting costs in half. By streamlining processes and employing advanced methane sensors, we envision a future where oil and gas firms can significantly reduce the financial burdens of their LDAR operations, allowing companies to invest more in growing their business. Additionally, our tools are designed to target a substantial 90% reduction in methane emissions, making a considerable dent in one of the most potent greenhouse gases.

One of our key motivations is to aid businesses in steering clear of any forthcoming EPA methane emissions taxes. With increased environmental regulations on the horizon from the new EPA Methane Emissions Reduction Program, staying ahead of the curve and adopting preemptive measures is crucial. Our innovative solutions aim not just to help firms avoid penalties but to champion the cause of environmental stewardship.

Automating reporting for the EPA Greenhouse Gas Reporting Program (GHGRP) is another critical goal of our operations. We aim to revolutionize how companies approach GHGRP, streamlining and automating reporting processes to make them more efficient and less cumbersome. Today, we are in the prototype stage, equipped with promising intellectual property and a reservoir of experience that makes our mission feasible.

However, it's essential to note that today is just Day 1. Transitioning from lab to full-scale production will undeniably pose challenges and require time. Still, it's a journey we are prepared for, as we've done it before. Steve Ridder, the Founder and CEO of 6th Element Labs, was previously the Founder and CEO of Teralytic, a cleantech sensor startup that helped the agriculture industry measure soil fertilizer (NPK) and Soil Organic Carbon levels. At Teralytic, he invented the world's first wireless NPK sensors, and he will apply that experience and expertise at 6th Element Labs. We anticipate hurdles, but we'll learn, adapt, and improve with every challenge. Our commitment is to innovate and iterate in partnership with our customers, universities, and governments.

Collaboration and continuous improvement are at the heart of our ethos. We will continuously seek partnerships and alliances with clients, ensuring our product aligns with industry standards and is tailor-made to meet specific needs. As partners in progress, we can redefine the methane monitoring landscape, ushering in an era of responsible and efficient energy production.
